Embu Mandarin Oriental
Singapore / Hospitality
Embu, nestled on Level 3 of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Singapore, adjacent to the Guestroom Atrium, is a dining gem inspired by the majestic Singapore Tembusu Tree. This enchanting eatery weaves the Garden City narrative into its very soul.
A recent renovation transformed the space, unveiling a façade that opens to the atrium, seamlessly blending the interior with lush, exterior landscaped gardens. With 50 additional seats at the rear, Embu invites more guests to indulge in its culinary delights.
The restaurant boasts 11 culinary stations, including an inviting outdoor oven, all tucked beneath interior canopies of curved louvred timber and backlit barrisol ceilings adorned with custom artwork of Tembusu tree leaves.
The dining area is thoughtfully divided into intimate zones, each with no more than 40 seats. These zones are separated by garden scape metal screens with shelving and integral lighting, creating cozy nooks that evoke a greenhouse ambiance, complete with libraries and live plants.
Embu's décor tells a local story through white marble tabletops, Peranakan porcelain floor tiles, and open weave rattan furniture, ensuring every detail pays homage to Singapore's rich heritage.
